Guide to Shopping on Hilton Head Island | Island Time Hilton Head

There is plenty of options for all kinds of shopping when visiting Hilton Head Island. You can find designer luxury jewelry and clothing to antiques and consignment shops and everything in between. 

There are several shopping centers as well both on Hilton Head Island and Bluffton

Forest Beach & Coligny Plaza & Beach Market Area

If Hilton Head had a downtown, Coligny Plaza & Beach Market is where it would be at. With the addition of Celebration Park, it will be a true spot for dining, shopping and outdoor activities.  Not only does Coligny have a beach market, access to the beach and the Coligny Beach Park, but it also has a whole center full of shops and great restaurants. If you are visiting North and South Forest Beach you can go for a day full of shopping, dining and a whole lot of fun. 


Coligny Plaza

This quaint shopping center on the South End of  Hilton Head, is the place to be. Coligny Plaza is home to over 60 shops and restaurants, as well as a movie theater, outdoor vendors and even live entertainment.

Coligny Beach Market

Right next to Coligny Beach Park is the Coligny Beach Market, a smaller division of Coligny Plaza, where a handful of shops and restaurants sit alongside the shores of Coligny, offering beachgoers a little more than sand and sun.  The best part about the Beach Market is that you don’t have to pack anything for the beach. If you forget something, it is all available right next to the beach.

Sea Pines

Sea Pines has multiple areas for shopping enjoyment. From South Beach up to the Sea Pines Beach Club are great stretches of beach, and the world famous Salty Dog Cafe, Harbour Town is home to the island’s most famous landmark, the Harbour Town Lighthouse,  overlooking the Calibogue Sound. In terms of shopping in Sea Pines, you can’t forget about the Sea Pines Center, with a unique outdoor atmosphere, shops and low country markets.

Harbour Town

Harbour Town is  a mix of great shops, restaurants and even a boardwalk out over the Calibogue Sound with gorgeous views. With elegant art shops, toy store, ice cream shop and neat general store you can find anything from beach gear to fine sculpture and pieces of art. Harbour Town is the perfect place for a relaxed shopping day that can end with a boat ride, dinner or even playing on the playground.

South Beach Marina Village

The synonymous South Beach stop at the Salty Dog Cafe and see why it is one of the most popular destinations on the island. This quaint waterfront marina vilaage offers a boardwalk and open center full of neat shops and restaurants right on a docks over the marina and water. It's not about the number of shops at South Beach Marina Village, but the view and ambience make it worth a visit. 

Shelter Cove

Shelter Cove Towne Centre

 

The newest outdoor shopping destination is the Shelter Cove Towne Centre, it offers  beautiful views of Broad Creek, but also great shops like Birdie James and Coastal Bliss and Spartina as well as delicious food from Poseidon, Jane Bistro, and many more. You can grab a quick bite at Wayback Burgers or watch a game at World of Beers or Hickory Tavern. Find all your food needs at Kroger. Along the waters edge with views of the Broad Creek is the Shelter Cove Community Park with playground, walking track and is the site of many community festivals.

The Plaza at Shelter Cove

Sitting adjunct to and connecting to Shelter Cove Towne Centre is The Plaza at Shelter Cove. It offers Outside Hilton Head, TJ Maxx, and some other shops. Whole Foods Market can help provide any grocery or prepped meal needs as well as Guiseppi’s Pizzeria and Hickory Tavern. Add in some good retail stores and The Plaza a great stop on your next shopping spree.

Shelter Cove

One of the best spots for everything from shopping to dining and fireworks festivals each week in the summer is Shelter Cove . Unique shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries line up overlooking a beautiful harbor chalk full of gorgeous boats. Launch on an excursion with our partner, Outside Hilton Head, for kayak tours, stand up paddleboarding, boat & charter fishing tours or just take in a view. See dolphin play in the local waters on a dolphin tour from Captain Mark’s, or enjoy a day as a crabber out on the Crabber J II.

The Village at Wexford

The Village at Wexford is located just outside of Shipyard Plantation close to the south end of Hilton Head. It offers visitors charming experience with specialty shops, art galleries, and restaurants. One of the best places to go here is Faces Day Spa or Faces Lash Studio The village is also home to one of our local favorites, Java Burrito, that serves burritos, tacos, coffee and much more. There are several small local shops from Island Child to art galleries, flower shops and more. Enjoy a fine dining experience at Ombra Cucina, an Italian eatery. Worth the visit and you can check out the local Irish pub or walk through an exquisite jewelry store and stop for some gelato. So much to do in this shopping destination.

Main Street Village

Main Street Village is on the north end of Hilton Head and haves a small town local shop feel. You can walk around and see each shop that is nestled together. Offering restaurants, shops, bars, ice cream treats and so much more. Sit and enjoy wine at WiseGuys or a delicious meal at Frankie Bones and stroll around to each shop or get the groceries at Harris Teeter.

Tanger Outlets

Shop for brand names with great pricing at the Tanger Outlets. The Tanger Outlets on Hilton Head have more than 85 stores in their two locations off of Highway 278. Check in with their Guest Services to see if you can get a 20% off coupon, which can be found on their website, and that you can use at any store located within the outlets.

Old Town Bluffton

Check out the quaint old town vibe with a walking district full of shops, restaurants and great Lowcountry vibes. You will feel transported when visiting Old Town Bluffton with charm to spare. You can grab drinks, check out an art exhibit, watch pottery be made or even experience a good old fashion low country market at certain times of the year. Definitely worth the visit and so much to take in when visiting Old Town
