I have been coming to Hilton Head for over 30 years, 2-3 times per year, and this is by far, the best house I have ever stayed in! My family stayed with other guests and had such an awesome week, we didn’t want to leave! When your kids say “mom, I want to move here and live in this house”, you know you found a good one! First of all, who doesn’t love brand new construction! And this place was outfitted with the best. It is obvious, the owners took great care in outfitting the home with high end finishings and furnishings. More on that later. First of all, the location was fantastic! It sits on the 16th green of Atlantic Dunes, just down the fairway from the 15th “ocean hole” but only 3 houses in from the beach. Our whole family loved sitting on the screened porch in the morning and evenings, listening to the ocean waves, looking at the views of the golf course, with a gentle breeze blowing through. We were an easy couple minutes walk to the beach and being on this section of the Gold Coast was just amazing. So quiet and peaceful but just a half mile from the Sea Pines Beach club if we wanted all that has to offer. My family loves to bike everywhere when on island and we literally crossed the street at the end of the driveway and we were on the bike path….literally 10 steps from the end of the driveway! And my son also crossed the street to the same place to throw his line in and fish in the lagoon every morning and evening. We were only 2 miles to South Beach Marina/Salty Dog for live music, pickleball, tennis, ice cream, 2 miles to Harbour Town and 2 miles to Lawton Stables (my son’s horse was “Cracker”) for an awesome trail ride. Don’t miss the 100 white herons that perch among the trees surrounding the lake at Lawton Stables, it’s a site to see. The Harris Teeter grocery store was right outside Greenwood gate, so close for grocery shopping (and love that the home has 2 refrigerators for big groups!) Also, we and our guests are golfing families and if you are here for a golf trip, this is a must stay house. Only 1/2 mile from the Plantation Club clubhouse for Atlantic Dunes and Heron Point. My 13 year old son would put his clubs on the pushcart and walk down the bike path to go hit balls on the range and practice on the short game area prior to his round that day. He is already asking if we can rent this house so he can have his golf buddies down for the “guys golf trip”! The pool was HUGE! In all the years we have been coming to Hilton Head, most of the houses have tiny pools. This house went big on the pool! Plenty of space for the kids to play and splash and an attached spa for all. Also, really big pool deck/patio with plenty of outdoor dining space for sunning/dining. There was a fully enclosed outdoor shower on the side of the house for washing off sandy feet, etc. after the beach and the coolest cabana bathroom I have ever seen with a door that has direct access to the screened porch. So if you come in from the pool, soaking wet, you don’t have to walk wet through the main house to access a full bathroom! Perfect for wet kids that are swimming all day. The house itself was simply amazing. First of all, I love to cook, and was so nice to have a huge 48” high end gas range to cook with! Was also pleasantly surprised to find high end cookware like Le Creuset and stainless steel Cuisinart from Williams Sonoma. Can’t say the houses we have stayed in before have nice cookware and this house definitely did. We realized if we had 20 people staying here, there was more than enough space and service for all! The kitchen island was massive. We actually measured it was so huge, 10 feet long, so plenty of space for entertaining. We are already planning a family reunion for the future in this house. The bedroom separation was fantastic, plenty of privacy, and the en suite bathrooms were top notch, I felt like I was staying in a spa. Lovely views from all rooms and the central media area upstairs for our guests to separate or the kids to hang out upstairs while the adults hang out downstairs was awesome! The kids quickly claimed the HUGE bunk room with built in full over full bunks and the teenagers in our group loved the 4 other bedrooms upstairs, all decorated in a different style, so they could find something that felt like them for the week. They even each had individual reading lights and ways to charge their devices at each bed. We had a rainy, wash out day while we were there and the kids plugged in to the latest and greatest Samsung TVs (especially the HUGE TV in the upstairs media room) to play their games. The adults loved the oversized first floor master and luxurious all marble spa en suite master bath, and the second floor guest suite, which I would call a “junior master”. Also, several of the adults had to touch base with work while we were there, or had to work a full day or two, and it was so nice to have the first floor study where they could close the doors and have work privacy, while the rest of us vacationed. The high speed internet throughout the house was more than capable of handling all the devices that were accessing it. In summary, if you want to rent a house that you won’t want to leave for vacation, this is the one. We will certainly be back to the island and this house is our first choice going forward!
