FAQs

ACCESS TO THE BEACH

Directions to the nearest beach access for each property are provided in your guestbook.

The distance or proximity to the beach from your property is disclosed on each property’s listing page. Descriptions may include, but are not limited to, terms such as oceanfront, second row, third row, walking distance, or approximate time (e.g., “5-minute walk”).

Yes. All registered guests staying within Sea Pines have access to the Sea Pines Beach Club. Non-guests of Sea Pines may purchase a Sea Pines Day pass at the community gate for $9.

• If you are staying in one of our Sea Pines properties, please note that parking at the Sea Pines Beach Club lot is very limited during the period of March 22 – September 1 between approximately 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• During those times, parking at the Sea Pines Beach Club is extremely limited. Only the first ~50 spaces in the lot are available to vacation-rental guests. Once these spaces are full, you must park in the designated overflow lot (Lot 8) and take the complimentary shuttle to the Beach Club. The remaining spaces are reserved exclusively for Sea Pines property owners.

• Outside of peak-season hours (before ~8 a.m., after ~3 p.m., or outside March 22-September 1), restrictions are relaxed, and parking is more freely available.

• Remember: you must still have a valid gate pass to enter Sea Pines Plantation.

Best advice: On busy beach-days arrive early (before 9 a.m.), or consider alternative transport (bike or the Sea Pines trolley) if you anticipate arriving later in the morning.

• For comfort and planning: if you bring beach gear, consider dropping it off first at the beach club and parking elsewhere if lot access is uncertain.

• If you cannot access the lot: park at the designated overflow lot and ride the complimentary shuttle.

Fall (September–November). Many locals consider fall the island’s hidden gem. The weather stays warm but less humid, perfect for golf, biking, and festivals like the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance and Oyster Festival.

Winter (December–February). A peaceful escape with mild temperatures, quiet beaches, and excellent off-season value. Ideal for couples and travelers who enjoy a slower pace, scenic walks, and cozy dining.
