This beautifully furnished and decorated home overlooks the Palmetto Dunes 11-mile lagoon and is just a 10-minute walk to the beach. With 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, a private pool, and the beautiful Robert Trent Jones golf course, this is the perfect vacation home.
The open living areas allow you to see the lagoon and the pool and talk to family and friends in the kitchen, great room, or study. With a large dining room that seats 10, casual dining in the kitchen, a breakfast bar, and al fresco dining on the terrace or pool deck, there is plenty of room to entertain a crowd.
The master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a king-sized bed, a sitting area, and large walk-in closets. The bathroom includes his-and-hers granite counter-top vanities, a bathtub, and a walk-in shower. The junior suites have king- and queen-sized beds (on the same level as the master suite). Each bedroom has a private, full bathroom. The fourth bedroom is oversized with three twin beds.

The Town of Hilton Head Island's 2026 Beach Renourishment Project began on August 6, 2025 at Fish Haul Beach, located off Mitchelville Road on the Island's north end. This vital initiative, part of the Town's long-term beach management program, is undertaken every 8 to 10 years and aims to preserve, protect, and restore Hilton Head's valuable shoreline.
The 2026 renourishment will mirror past efforts (1990, 1997, 2006, 2016) and involves placing approximately 2.2 million cubic yards of beach-compatible sand across 46,500 feet of Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline. Sand will be dredged from offshore shoals and pumped through extensive pipeline systems onto designated beach areas, then shaped by heavy machinery to meet specific design standards.
The $47.5 million project is divided into three phases, with work expected to last until May 2026:

During the renourishment, about 1,000-foot beach segments will be temporarily closed, with beachgoers directed around active work zones via ramps and signage. Construction is expected to proceed 24/7, moving at a pace of 200-300 feet per day, with minor disruptions lasting just a few days for any specific beachfront property
The proposed project will include sand placement along five areas of the island shoreline:
The project includes safeguards for endangered species. Activities are monitored by consultants to protect sea turtles and migratory shorebirds. Per U.S. Army Corps and USFWS permit conditions, dog activity is restricted in a small area adjacent to Fish Haul Creek Beach Park. All other beaches remain under normal seasonal pet access rules.

House was roomy, clean and comfortable for our six person party. Well appointed. Nice private location, with access to the lagoon. Very good communication with the managers. HavIng stayed in Palmetto Dunes many times I feel comfortable giving the property an excellent rating. We loved the house and our mini vacation to Hilton Head. The management company was very responsive and helpful, even recommending places for brunch and ordering pizza. The heated spa was wonderful, although on our last morning there it did not heat up despite paying for the week. We didn't have the pool heated because it was too cold to swim. But even if we dared to brave the cold, the pool was loaded with leaves & debri. We were informed that the pool cleaning day was on Saturday, but no one showed up to clean the pool. The rental home was absolutely gorgeous. Beds were SUPER comfortable. We had some issues with the pool upon our arrival but property management had the pool servicing company come by and get things squared away so we could start enjoying our vacation. We very much enjoyed our stay at 39 Port Tack. The home was exactly like the pictures and extremely comfortable, clean, and welcoming. The owners even had a notebook with restaurants, things to do, etc there for us. The pool area was so relaxing and the wildlife was plentiful. We saw several deer, herons, cranes, etc. The beach was a short bike trip away. The property manager was amazing, calling and checking that we had everything we needed. What a wonderful property to spend a week relaxing and recharging with family at! We could not have picked a better location, property, or vacation rental management company to deal with. Palmetto Dunes resort is lush and tranquil and the house is beautifully situated on the lagoon overlooking the golf course, with lots of wildlife to watch. The beach is truly just an 8-10 minute walk away, with access to a less busy stretch of sand, or a 4-minute drive to the Club House access, where you could grab a bite to eat and rent an umbrella and chairs if you didn't bring your own.
The house is spacious and very tastefully and comfortably outfitted and had all the necessary amenities you could need for a great stay. Island Time Hilton Head Rentals was great to work with before and during our stay. Brenda is a gem and immediately sorted a minor issue we had on day one and was accessible throughout. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

This is a wonderful home, true to the pictures and description on the website.
Located on the lagoon, replete with wild life such as alligators, squirrels and varied waterfowl, the ocean is just a pleasurable ten minute walk through a quiet neighborhood.
Generally, the management was helpful, only a couple “snafoos” but they were resolved. We traveled with little children and management connected us to which delivered a crib, toys, high chair, beach chairs/umbrellas etc. prior to our arrival so the transition was flawless.
The concierge service was equally helpful as they connected us to who delivered, and refrigerated, our food prior to our arrival. The fresh vegetables and fruit were excellent quality The amiable woman and her friendly daughter, worked very hard to shop, deliver and unpack the groceries!
This VRBO site says to bring hand soap, dishwashing and laundry soap however, I’d recommend you wait until you arrive to see what is actually needed. Unwittingly we prepurshased it when there was already some there from the former family. We left our newly purchased soaps there, as it seems did the people prior to our stay.
My final recommendation is Palm Meadow outfitters who delivered bikes for the week. The bikes were wonderful as the neighborhood is set up with beautiful bike paths, making stores, restaurants, beach sun rises and sunsets quickly assessable!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House is beautiful !!! Short bike ride to beach and pool area is wonderful. We had some issues with the spa but the house manager was able to get these resolved and also refunded money on days missed out on use.
