Featuring 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, there is plenty of room for the entire family. Relax in the light-filled, open-concept kitchen or great room. Enjoy multiple dining options inside and out, including a large, covered, screened-in porch! A beautifully adorned chefs' kitchen is ready for your culinary creations. Enjoy a quick bite sitting at the kitchen island or formal dining at the whitewashed dining table.
Sweet dreams will greet you after a long day at the beach in your comfortable bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private bath! Located on the main level is the primary bedroom with a king bed, a beautiful no-threshold walk-in shower, a deep soaking tub, and a dual vanity. Bedroom #2, just down the hall, has a queen bed and a bath with a shower. Bedroom #3 has a king bed, a walkout balcony, and an ensuite with a shower. Bedroom #4 has two twin beds that can be converted into a swing king and a tub/shower combo. There is a queen-size sleeper sofa in the Great Room.

The Town of Hilton Head Island's 2026 Beach Renourishment Project began on August 6, 2025 at Fish Haul Beach, located off Mitchelville Road on the Island's north end. This vital initiative, part of the Town's long-term beach management program, is undertaken every 8 to 10 years and aims to preserve, protect, and restore Hilton Head's valuable shoreline.
The 2026 renourishment will mirror past efforts (1990, 1997, 2006, 2016) and involves placing approximately 2.2 million cubic yards of beach-compatible sand across 46,500 feet of Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline. Sand will be dredged from offshore shoals and pumped through extensive pipeline systems onto designated beach areas, then shaped by heavy machinery to meet specific design standards.
The $47.5 million project is divided into three phases, with work expected to last until May 2026:

During the renourishment, about 1,000-foot beach segments will be temporarily closed, with beachgoers directed around active work zones via ramps and signage. Construction is expected to proceed 24/7, moving at a pace of 200-300 feet per day, with minor disruptions lasting just a few days for any specific beachfront property
The proposed project will include sand placement along five areas of the island shoreline:
The project includes safeguards for endangered species. Activities are monitored by consultants to protect sea turtles and migratory shorebirds. Per U.S. Army Corps and USFWS permit conditions, dog activity is restricted in a small area adjacent to Fish Haul Creek Beach Park. All other beaches remain under normal seasonal pet access rules.

I’ve stayed at this house for a few years now and it’s been wonderful each time. The remodeled kitchen is a chef’s dream! With the kitchen and outdoor grill we were able to enjoy some amazing meals right at the house. Our group particularly loves the pool and screened porch every year. I’ve been lucky to vacation at 62 Mooring Buoy for the past few years. The location is perfect, close enough to shops and restaurants but feels very private. The house is well-equipped, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. My group particularly loves the screened porch and quiet, private pool. It’s also great that each bedroom has its own full bathroom. We truly enjoyed our stay at 62 Mooring Buoy! We had 6 adults and 3 children in our group, and the home provided us with more than enough room to spread out and relax. The house was very clean when we arrived, and we loved having the screened in porch for an added play area for our 3 grandchildren. The kitchen was well appointed with everything that we needed, and even had pictures and labels to help us find things easily. The home fit our needs perfectly with lots of room to spread out. We loved the pool and the screened in back porch.. Just a short walk to the beach along a paved pathway. Wonderful bathrooms and a great kitchen for us all to gather. The rental company was outstanding and very attentive to our needs. We loved staying at 62 Mooring Buoy. It was 2 adults and our 3 young kids. We enjoyed the easy walk to the beach (2 minutes on a private beach path, which is in your backyard!), and the proximity to other locations within Palmetto Dunes. The beds were very comfortable, and the home was very well stocked with anything you could need. All of the items were in good condition, too, which is sometimes hard to find in a rental home. Had a lovely stay at 62 Mooring Buoy the week before Easter. This is was my third time staying at the property and I can’t wait to return! The beach is never crowded, and the private, heated pool was favorite gathering place for our group. The house also has a spacious screened porch that is perfect for outdoor dining and post-swim naps. I also think it’s important to note that the house has undergone both interior and exterior renovations since some of the older reviews were posted. We were so happy with this home - so clean and well equipped with everything you need! The location was perfect - very short (1 minute) walk to the beach, close to restaurants, grocery stores, shops, etc; the private pool was so nice - on our way home, we already booked our return trip to this home for later this year! We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in 62 Mooring Buoy!! We have been vacationing in Palmetto Dunes for the past 10 years and this was one of our favorites! The home was very comfortable, very clean and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed. The location with quick access to the beach via the path alongside the home, was a bonus. We did not want to leave and we cannot wait to return!! Also thank you to everyone at Island Time Hilton Head for your excellent customer service prior to and during our stay. Just returned from a wonderful stay at 62 Mooring Buoy! The house is spacious, bright, tastefully decorated, and was fully stocked with everything we needed. I was particularly impressed with the kitchen which has a gas stove, double oven, and lots of excellent quality cookware. The house is also in a perfect location right on the beach path. It only takes a couple minutes to walk to what feels like a private beach! We loved our stay at 62 Mooring Buoy. It’s clear this home is well take care of by the owners and those who rent. Great amenities too. Kitchen has everything you need. Technology and entertainment (TV / internet) worked wonderfully. Rare to find a pet friendly house this close to the beach in such a great neighborhood. Our dog enjoyed her stay as much as we did. We loved our month long stay at your beautiful house. The location could not be beat and the beach path right next to it was a bonus. The interior of the house was clean, extremely well-stocked and very comfortable. Since we were there in February, the beach was sometimes too cold and windy to enjoy, so your well protected pool deck was where we spent many afternoons in the sun. The screened in porch was my favorite spot to read in the afternoon. This was definitely one of the nicest VRBO homes that we have ever stayed in and we will be back!Posted: 3/1/2022

We really enjoyed our stay in Hilton Head and this home was perfect for us. We have stayed in Sea Pines in the past but I have to say I think we much preferred Palmetto Dunes. The house was perfect for us. Each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom and greatly enjoyed the screened porch and being so close to the beach. I would recommend.Posted: 9/8/2021

We had a great stay at 62 Mooring Buoy. To update an earlier review, the property exterior has been updated by a new owner, including a lovely little pool. The pool is located in the "front" yard which I think is important to note, but there is a ton of landscaping/vegetation between it and the road so it feels very private and safe. The house was very clean and has a really nice layout, especially for families with kids (two somewhat lofted bedrooms and a master on the first floor). Never know what to expect when you rent a house (do the pictures do it justice, etc.) This was perfect. One of the main reasons I was interested in this place was the screened in porch. From coffee in the morning to late night games, the screened in porch was perfect. The shade provided by the trees was a nice touch. Never sunny in there and ceiling fans provided a nice breeze. Location was great, maybe a 3 minute walk to the beach. Made it easy to walk back and forth when needed. We spent the week leading up to 4th of July in this house and had an amazingly relaxing week. Our family of 5 (twin 5 year olds and an 18 month old) found the house perfect for our needs. The house is 200 yards from the beach and has a quiet beach access path right off of the property. To and from the beach multiple times per day was a breeze and the outdoor shower made rinsing kids an easy task. Evenings were spent grilling, taking a bike ride around the quiet residential section of the resort, and then sipping drinks in the screened in living area after putting the kids down. The indoor space had plenty of room for our little monster to run around and the kitchen had everything we needed. Only got in the car the entire week to go play golf in Sea Pines. Everything else we could access by bike. In this crazy pandemic life, a week of a low key fun was exactly what our crew needed. For others reference... with an additional pull out couch and cot this house could easily fit 2 families.Posted: 7/5/2020

We just spent a week at this house in Palmetto dunes. It was a great location with the beach access path running right along the house. The house itself could use a few minor updates and i would love to see the backyard area be more usable (bricked charcoal grill and water feature was a little overgrown ) but overall the property was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bottom of the washing machine was fairly full of sand and had to be cleaned out before use. However I’m sure it was an oversight by the cleaning company because everything else was fine. We just enjoyed a week at this Palmetto Dunes home. The property is in a great location and a quick two minute walk to the beach. The beach access path runs directly beside the house. The home is in need of some minor updates but very comfortable for our stay and had everything we needed. The washing machine had a lot of sand in it when I started to use it and had to be cleaned out. I’m sure it was just an oversight by the cleaning staff.
